Episode 2: Love Yourself

Lately my daily chants have been “In Love With Me” so I thought I should do some sharing about self-care. It sparked my interest in self-care and the desire to empower others to reclaim their health and well-being.

" It’s not selfish to prioritise self-care. "

It’s not selfish to prioritise self-care, because we can’t be a fully productive member of the society if we don’t take care of our selves. Learning how to fall in love with yourself is the key to your happiness.

I believe it follows the law of attraction; what you put out into the world, you get back tenfold. When you fall in love with yourself, you’ll naturally spread love out into the world, improving the quality of your life & others.

When you fall in love with yourself, you gain deep appreciation of your own worth and capabilities. Falling in love with yourself also means that you genuinely like yourself, and you enjoy spending time alone.

I know that there’s a lot of emphasis on romantic love where people think that finding the right partner will somehow make them “whole”, fill their inner void, and solve all of their problems.

However, another person can never do all of these things for you. You have to do them for yourself. That is, you have to fall in love with yourself. Falling in love with yourself will allow you to do all of the following.

Below are some ways to fall in love with yourself:

  • Make a list of your accomplishments

  • Surround yourself with supportive people

  • Practice self-care

  • If there’s something you don’t like about yourself, change it

  • Don’t lose yourself in relationships

  • Meditate

  • Treat yourself

  • Develop positive habits

  • Listen to yourself

  • Ask yourself what you need

Self-love means accepting yourself as you are in this very moment for everything that you are. It means accepting your emotions for what they are and putting your physical, emotional and mental well-being first.

Everything starts with and how you feel about yourself. Start feeling worthy, valuable and deserving of receiving the best life has to offer. Be magnetic. There’s no need to be perfect to inspire others. Let others get inspired by how you deal with your imperfections.
